Guarding the Gates

Are the gates of your home, your heart, and your mind wide open?

In "Guarding the Gates," we continue our journey through Acts 20 as Paul delivers his farewell warning to the Ephesian elders: "Guard yourselves and God's people." Paul knew the church was about to face real spiritual warfare, and his call to vigilance is just as urgent for us today.

In this message, we look at three truths:

1. The Threat from the Outside (The Vicious Wolves)
The enemy is prowling around our homes, marriages, and churches through a culture that redefines truth and media that normalizes sin. We must become active gatekeepers, but we don't have to live in fear. The Holy Spirit gives us discernment and strength.

2. The Threat from the Inside (The Distortion of Truth)
The most dangerous deceptions don't look like obvious evil. They look like small compromises. Anchored in God's Word, the Spirit of Truth gives us an internal compass to tell a distorted truth from the genuine Gospel.

3. The Posture of a Shepherd (Watch and Care)
Parents, grandparents, and leaders, you are shepherds. Guarding your flock means more than rules. It means feeding them the Word, listening to their struggles, and praying over their souls. And you never shepherd alone, because the Good Shepherd walks beside you.

Jesus didn't just guard the gates. He laid down His life at the gates to save yours.
