The Strength of Compassion

Society often tells men that our primary job is to be the ultimate "fixer". But when our loved ones come to us struggling, they don't always want a logical, five-step solution; they just need us to feel the weight of it with them. In this message, we look beyond earthly dads to the ultimate model of fatherhood. We unpack Psalm 103:13-14 to discover what true, fatherly compassion actually looks like in action.

This message explores three marks of a compassionate father:

Providing a Safe Harbor: A good father creates an environment where kids are met with empathy, not an immediate lecture or judgment when they mess up.

Managing Expectations: God is not surprised by your humanity, and He gently leads you according to how He designed you.

Offering Grace for the Process: Good fathers remember that their kids are fragile works in progress, and they give them room to fail.

Instead of just diagnosing our sin problem from a distance and dropping a manual down to fix it, God sent Jesus to step into our mess and experience our sorrow. Stop striving for perfection to earn God’s love, and rest in the arms of a Father who knows exactly who you are and loves you completely anyway.
