BIBLICAL FOCUS

“I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you.”
Ezekiel 36:26 (NLT)

By now in our fast, we should have come to understand and witness, that fasting starts separating what’s natural from what’s spiritual. You can only run on discipline for so long, then you realize you need God’s power, not just your effort.

Ezekiel 36:26 is God speaking a promise to His people: “I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you.” That means the change God is after isn’t only external. It’s spiritual. It’s internal. It’s supernatural. Because some battles won’t break with discipline alone, they break when the Spirit empowers you.

A “new spirit” means God puts fresh life on the inside of you:

  • new strength to obey when your flesh wants to quit
  • new desire to worship when you feel dry
  • new sensitivity to hear His voice
  • new boldness to choose holiness
  • new peace when anxiety tries to take over

So today, don’t just ask God to correct you, ask Him to empower you. Don’t only pray, “Lord, take this away,” also pray, “Lord, put Your Spirit in me in a fresh way.”

Because fasting isn’t just self-denial, it’s spiritual alignment. It’s making room for the Spirit to fill you again.

And as you keep fasting, remember this: God is not only removing what’s old, He’s depositing what’s new.
