BIBLICAL FOCUS:
“Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.” — Colossians 3:2 (NLT)
What has been occupying the most space in your mind lately, God’s truth, or your worries?
Focus is spiritual. What you focus on grows. What you replay shapes you. And one of the sneakiest attacks in this generation isn’t always temptation, it’s distraction. Because if the enemy can’t destroy you, he’ll try to drain you, scatter you, keep you busy, keep you mentally occupied, so that you’re never truly present and focused on God.
That’s why Colossians 3:2 is so direct and what we need to hear: “Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.”
This isn’t God telling you to ignore responsibilities. This is God telling you where your mind is supposed to live. Because if your thoughts stay tied to earthly thinking, you’ll stay stuck in fear, sadness, anxiousness, and pressures.
And here’s some truth: you can’t live in faith while focusing your mind on fear all day. You can’t hear God clearly when your thoughts are always racing and not in focus.
You can’t walk a new path if your mind keeps focusing on old problems. New focus doesn’t mean you never think about real issues, it means you stop letting them become your center. It means you choose to anchor your focus on God’s character, God’s Word, and God’s perspective. Heaven focused thinking produces earthly stability.
So today, don’t just focus on what’s troubling you, steer your focus away from the mental clutter. Steer your focus away from rehearsing what you can’t control. Steer your focus away from the same anxious loop.
I strongly believe that God is not only renewing your spiritual discipline, He’s renewing your mind’s direction and focus.
Ask the Lord for new focus: less scattered, less distracted, more centered. Don’t wait for life to become less distracting, less worrisome, or less stressful. But take on a New Focus so that when these things come, you’re not shaken because your focus has you anchored.
